I did these for Carrara a few weeks ago, and have now plugged them all into Iray Base Shaders for use in Daz. I got permission from Nobiax again to redistribute these in another format.

I'd like the community's help in making these perfect for Iray. So far, I have only plugged in the texture maps, set Metallicity on the appropriate presets, set a basic level of SubD and Displacement on the presets that include a displacement map, and set a basic Emission level on the few presets that include those maps.

Please comment below if you find any default tweaks that need to be made to these - too shiny, not shiny enough, looks way better with metallic flakes, etc. Please give detailed info on what you'd like to see changed and renders if possible. I'll rerelease a new version with whatever fixes we come up with, including adding tags. Some normal/spec maps might be incorrect, as I was drag/dropping them into Daz... I noticed a few that didn't take the first time I dropped them onto the channel, so I can't say 100% will be right. Let me know! :P if you want to fix them for your own use before the 1.00 release, all the texture maps are included, you just have to switch it within Daz.

-The Carrara shader pack is also available from this download link. Since the Daz Studio community is bigger and I'm more likely to get feedback and changes here, I'll port any changes over to the Carrara pack sometime in the future - maybe (hopefully!) when Carrara gets Iray.

Assembled in DAZ Studio 4.8 Pro Public Build by kaz42 (Daz)/The-Golemancer (DevArt)

328 Daz Studio Iray-compliant shaders made from the "Free Textures Packs 1-55" by Nobiax (ShareCG and DevArt), as well as his free Impact texture set and commissioned Medieval texture set. Please visit Nobiax's pages for some nice free models, as well as links to his Unity and UE4 commercial work.

All shaders include Diffuse and Normal channels. Most include Specular, and a few also include Displacement and Glow.

All shaders are provided as-is. They were made using the default settings other than the texture channels, so some may need additional tweaking (reducing shininess, for instance) to look their best.

These shaders are free for any and all use, including commercial.

There are links to various HDRIs scattered all over the Iray threads...well, HDRIs aren't just for Iray. 3Delight, Luxrender, Cycles and Octane all can use them too. Some are in spherical mapping, most are equirectangular/latitudinal-longitudinal mappings...a few are in both, very few are cubic.

Wide quality range
The quality of these will vary greatly, many require a supplemental light source (usually in the location of the sun) to cast 'hard shadows'...most are non-comm only. (Non-comm = Non-commercial use only, but read the individual licenses on each site/item to be sure.)

Mid to High dynamic range
Most of these are mid to very high range, most will cast decent shadows. Many/most of these will cast 'hard' shadows without any additional light sources. Quality and license, noted; ones without comment are either no restrictions or unknown. Many of these sites also have pay versions that range from fairly cheap to rather expensive...but licensing is usually much more 'commercial' friendly for the paid versions and there are either higher range HDRs/higher res backplates with the paid ones.

Introduction
The idea for this script was suggested by TugPsx fro the Daz3D forums

Use
1 select the target, example, a table
2 select an object that will fall on the top of the bounding box of the Table, example, a cup
3 launch the mcjDropToTop script

the script will move the bottom of the bounding box of the cup to the top of the bounding box of the table

( this script was posted long ago, but i added thumbnail images and a PDF manual )

CL_FileLauncher : Launch media-files from within Daz Studio

Launch your manuals, documention, tutorials, ... directly from within the Daz Studio Content Library with the CL_FileLauncher script ! This script generates companion-scripts for files like pdf, wmv, mp4, txt, ... that are by default not visible in the content library.

You can easily add extra extensions in the script if your favourite filetype is not included.

1. Load the CL-FileLauncher script in the DS Script IDE or add it to your menu as a custom action.

2. Browse in the Content Library (Daz Studio Formats) to the folder containing the media-files.

3. Run the CL_FileLauncher from the menu, hotkey, toolbar, ... that you set up in step 1. (or press F5 if you loaded it in the Script IDE)

4. Enjoy... :)

A Famous and Familiar Outfit

Hey guys, I've completed my second daz product and I'll tell you, it took me about 6 days to make it. This particular product is an outfit that you all should find very familiar. To be honest, I was actually watching the movie the other day regarding this product i made (Which i have seen so many times that i know the words in the movie by heart) and it suddenly hit. Why not make an outfit model of this for DAZ Studio? So I got to work and i'll tell you this; the end result was fabulous! I suck at modeling, like no joke, but when it comes to making textures, I'm a complete professional! Here is a photo of the product and like I said, it should be very familiar since it became a famous tv show ever since it was first shown on tv back in 1993!

Note: I hate to admit it and I mean I REALLY hate to admit it, but for the clothes, I used the following Daz Products, but just made new textures and saved the clothing as wearables:

The dress, leggings and belt from Super Dress and Leggings (Although the gun holster on the belt I actually did model as it was a simple structure to model)
The gloves from Heartbeat for Genesis 2 Female(s)
The boots from SciFi Enforcer for Genesis 2 Female(s)

As for the helmet, I used a model I found from one of the model sites that unrelated to Daz 3D such as Yobi3D, TF3DM, etc. and used blender to separate the helmet from the body. I would make the others, but unfortunately i am unable to find the models for them. Only this one. If anyone knows where i can find any models of the others or is able to model the helmetsof the others, please let me know. But other than that, I hope you guys like this product.

Hello friends. Long have I been a member of this community, downloading other people's freebies and thinking I could never possibly make anything of the like. Well friends, that has changed. I decided to learn Blender so I could give back as a thanks for all the nice free things I've gotten in the past.

I am still in the beginning stages of modeling, but I would like to start a thread for the things I make and put up. For my first offerings, I give you: a Teapot with a cup and scaucer and a Dining table and Chair. The teapot and cup are just obj and mtl files, not uvmapped, but look nice in Iray or 3dl with whatever shader you may use. The Dining set, is uvmapped and textured and properly packaged up to be used in DS 4.8 and higher. The material are set up for Iray, but I'm sure with tweaking could be used in 3dl with no trouble.

As you can see from the promos, both offerings are scaled properly to work with DAZ figures. Please enjoy these offerings and watch this space for more.

Hey guys, I've created a freebie lights for Iray, published yesterday on my web page so I decided to let you know here as well :)

This is my first set of Environment lights/HDRis for Daz Studio and it includes 10 one-click presets of different environments to use in your renders. Package also includes additional light preset, Render Settings for Daz Studio, 13 Bonus Settings to help manipulate included Environments and 10 HDRi high resolution maps in 6000x3000px size. These are free for both commercial and non-commercial use (without package distribution).
