Not only does this package allow you to make R2-D2, but it also includes  poses to create different R2 units seen in the Star Wars movies:

And you can create your own R2 unit simply by changing the "base" and "trim" coloring!

This R2 unit includes:

The first time you run this script, a new node named 'PoseMix' will be created.
You should then exit this script and animate the 'PoseMix' property of the 'PoseMix' node.

Pose your figure(s) one way at frame 1801 and pose your figure(s) a different way at frame 1802
Select the root node of your figure(s) and run the script again
Select the range of frames to be processed
Press the DoIt button
The script will go frame by frame. The value of the 'PoseMix' slider
will control the the mix between the pose at frame 1801 and at frame 1802.
Note that you can also specify other frame numbers than 1801 1802.

I think Daz people will enjoy them as I used a lot of the products to create the animations and my main figures, sets, scenes. It was great fun and I am now working on the final books. The story is all about magic, created for young adults and adults who like sophisticated fiction, sci-fi and fantasy, that is not childish. The magic is science based and I worked very hard to make it feel believeable. I think you'll love the characters and the interplay of the graphics with the text and overall design. (These are not games, they are full length novels.) If you haven't tried animation with Daz, it can be daunting at first, but it does work and you can get some impressive results. I prefer it over the high-end programs and its so much faster! I was doing full animation scenes, with 2 or more figures and complex sets, around 1 minute length, 60 fps, and it took me around 2-3 days average, most of that render time and post effects.

In collaboration with @timmins.william, I am pleased to announce an automated material converter from Iray Uber to 3Delight Basic. It won't eliminate all custom tweaking, but should make the task considerably less painful. Included are the script, an icon, and a tip. They should be named "IrayTo3Delight.dsa", "IrayTo3Delight.png", and "IrayTo3Delight.tip.png" respectively in a directory of your choosing. All the bugs are my own, so don't blame Will, just post them here, and I'll do my best to be responsive. Render on!

OK, I was goofing off in D|S 4.6.x Pro this weekend and created something for the community at large.

Qiao-fu (roughly translates as 'tall woman' from Mandarintools.com) is a dialspun character preset for Genesis Female 2 / Victoria 6.

Hello friends. Long have I been a member of this community, downloading other people's freebies and thinking I could never possibly make anything of the like. Well friends, that has changed. I decided to learn Blender so I could give back as a thanks for all the nice free things I've gotten in the past.

I am still in the beginning stages of modeling, but I would like to start a thread for the things I make and put up. For my first offerings, I give you: a Teapot with a cup and scaucer and a Dining table and Chair. The teapot and cup are just obj and mtl files, not uvmapped, but look nice in Iray or 3dl with whatever shader you may use. The Dining set, is uvmapped and textured and properly packaged up to be used in DS 4.8 and higher. The material are set up for Iray, but I'm sure with tweaking could be used in 3dl with no trouble.

As you can see from the promos, both offerings are scaled properly to work with DAZ figures. Please enjoy these offerings and watch this space for more.

Hello to all people at here. Recently I had to make quite a few JCMs for custom Genesis 3 morphs, originating from older generations and encountered some difficulties with methods of making JCMs in the new Studio 4.9. The old documentation for making JCMs and MCMs is greatly obsolete and the newer versions of Daz Studio offer much more faster and easier ways to perform this task. But these possibilities are undocumented so far and when I haven't found any clear info expect from great videos by Josh Darling, I decided to write my own little tutorial. For me, any illustrated text comes more handy than videoclips, and I think such PDF guide will be useful to many new users of DAZ Studio. It's my first tutorial and  I tried to make it as clear as I could, although it is written not by a professional and may miss some important moments. I hope it will help you in similar cases and if you add your own tips in this thread, I would be very grateful.

McjTeleblender is a kit of scripts designed to quickly export Daz Studio scenes, even animations, and render them in Blender using Cycles.

In this new version, the material's texture images are ready to be tiled

Also, a new trick lets you re-use your custom materials

this is a scene set-up in Daz Studio 3 , transferred to Blender using the scripts, and rendered by the Cycles Path Tracer

( inspired by the set of 4minute's Volume Up music video )

So I decided it was time to learn how to make textures from photos, and spent about a month taking pictures of the various soups and stews I cooked for dinner. This pack is the result! These soup textures are built to be applied to a cylinder primitive, which can then be fit inside the pot of your choice. For convenience poses have been included to fit the cylinders inside SloshWerks's Cookware Set, but it will work with anything.

The textures are set up for 3Delight and use AoA's Subsurface Shader, but again, these are textures for the cylinder primitive... I expect they can be converted to Iray easily enough. I've also included files for the Poser folks.

Get the pack from ShareCG. The textures aren't perfect by a long shot, but I had fun and I learned a lot, and hopefully folks will find them useful!

This script is to calculate the vibration damping based on the movement of the bone, to set the parameters of the morph.

Another new thing, these are four Material presets (found under My DAZ 3D Library/Materials, if you plopped it in the right folder). There are two (Blank Genesis2 Light and Blank Genesis Light) which will replace a figure's materials with a set of materials with no image maps (NONE). The other two do the same thing, but only for mouth materials.

Why?

Iray is extremely sensitive to texture load, and if you go over your card's limit, welp, things sloooooow down. So it can be important to get rid of every texture you can.

For figures at medium to long range, the first presets can erase all the details you aren't going to see. At closer range, there are still potentially dozens of different maps for teeth on a bunch of figures... none of whom have open mouths! So, zap zap zap zap.

If you want even more savings, you can set Thin Shell: On and set Translucency to 0.

That should cover most of it.
